Requirements
  • At least 5 years of hands-on architecture experience creating and implementing architecture solution designs
  • Broad and deep technical experience in multiple hardware/software computing environments and system components.
  • Must have strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate and work effectively on assignments
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience interacting with senior executives as well as those who do not have technical backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability to influence a variety of roles and audiences
  • Working knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks
  • Experience with UML, use cases, modeling, documenting architectures, and architecture design processes.
  • Experience with all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Must be self-motivated and self-directed
  • Must be able to handle multiple high priority demands
  • Must have the ability to be detail oriented, yet still be able to have clarity on the overall higher-level picture
  • Ability to understand and adapt to new and emerging technologies
  • Ability to use and document solution designs in Enterprise Architecture tools, planning IT and SPARX EA
  • A Bachelor’s degree Computer Science or related IT field or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for creating architecturally sound solution designs that solve business problems
  • Responsible for delivery of architecture/design and related deliverables, including Business, Application, Integration, Data, and Infrastructure design artifacts
  • Responsible for the design of the applications (including databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches)
  • Responsible for documenting solution designs and other architecture artifacts using standard architecture artifacts and notations, including UML
  • Responsible for applying and ensuring that all enterprise and industry standards and best-practices are followed in solution designs on assigned projects
  • Responsible for developing solution designs that follow Business and Domain roadmaps, blueprints, and enterprise standards
  • Responsible for creating "solution snapshots" that drive estimation processes, provide insights into proposed solutions, and potential impacts on existing systems
  • Responsible for hands-on involvement and participation in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including without limitation, requirements gathering, analysis & design, and implementation
  • Responsible for working with technical and business partners to collect functional requirements on assigned projects
  • Responsible for establishing, prioritizing, and creating designs that meet or exceed a project’s non-functional requirements, including: Performance, Availability, Scalability and Reliability, Maintainability
  • Responsible for stewarding a project’s solution design through architecture governance processes
  • Responsible for ensuring that Enterprise Architecture’s roadmaps, blueprints and long term strategies are realized (or considered) on assigned projects
  • Responsible for identifying, articulating and communicating technical impacts when technical decisions at a project or program level affect or constrain long term strategies or total cost of ownership
  • Responsible for managing and conducting design and post-implementation technical reviews.
  • Responsible for providing architecture and technical leadership on assigned projects
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining the overall technical vision for assigned projects
  • Responsible for educating other team members on Enterprise standards and best practices
  • Responsible for owning the overall solution design and associated trade-off decisions throughout the life cycle of assigned projects
  • Responsible for assessing new technologies to determine suitability and alignment with enterprise technology
  • Responsible for participating in enterprise technology and functional planning processes to develop standards and best practices
  • Responsible for developing architecture roadmaps and blueprints for businesses and technical domains
  • Responsible for participating in or leading research and development opportunities to determine potential impact on the enterprise
Desired Qualifications
  • Strengths in one or more of the following Disciplines are a plus: Application Architecture – ability to design applications that are highly available and can execute in the cloud and multi-site architectures
  • Security Architecture – ability to design applications that meet the latest industry standards on security
  • Digital Architecture – Knowledge / experience in one or more of the following: web architecture and content management (Java, Fatwire), HTML5, mobile optimized web / native apps, inbound / outbound email communication, chat and cobrowse in the contact center.
  • Publishing/Document Management – Ability to apply industry standard Enterprise Content Management practices and patterns, such as bar coding, multi-channel, business process management, document management, retention, information lifecycle, high volume and interactive publishing, to drive lower total cost of ownership, straight thru processing, and multi-channel communication
  • Integration Architecture – ability to design using SOA principles into enterprise architecture design, including identifying opportunities for common services and service reuse
  • Infrastructure Architecture - Ability to design solutions across an array of infrastructure technologies and cloud services, and to drive infrastructure technology strategies and roadmaps with a services focus that align to business directions
