Why this Role?
Our finetuning team owns and delivers our finetuning experience to our customers. The efforts undertaken by this team directly contribute to our success as a company. Most recent projects included launching a comprehensive suite of finetuning including chat, generate, classify and rerank finetuning, improving reliability, and launching a programmatic API for managing finetunes. This team works across almost all teams at Cohere and at times, engages directly with our customers.
Please Note: We have offices in Toronto, San Francisco, New York and London. We embrace a remote-friendly environment, and as part of this approach, we strategically distribute teams based on interests, expertise, and time zones to promote collaboration and flexibility. You’ll find the Finetuning team concentrated in the PST and EST timezone.
In order to be successful in the role, you have:
- Experience finetuning LLMs, including conversational, generative and embedding
- Experience building production-grade machine learning systems
- A passion for delivering joyful experiences to customers
- Experience in Golang (or, other languages designed for high-performance scalable servers) and Python (or, other scripting languages)
Additional qualifications that will help you excel in the role are:
- Experience training, serving, and/or deploying LLMs
- Experience working on embeddings - in a personal or a professional setting!
