Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in human resources, onboarding, recruiting coordination, or employee experience roles, including at least 2 years directly supervising or leading a team.
  • Demonstrated success building or scaling an onboarding, new hire, or similar human resources program.
  • Proficiency with human resources information systems platforms, Microsoft Office, and virtual meeting tools.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze data and translate it into clear key performance indicator reporting for leadership.
  • Ability to create and deliver professional and engaging presentations.
  • Ability to handle escalations, ambiguity, and confidential information with sound judgment.
  • Strong cross-functional relationship-building skills, particularly with information technology, Facilities, and hiring managers.
  • Ability to operate effectively with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to develop and manage direct reports.
Responsibilities
  • Directly manage the Onboarding Coordinator and the Onboarding & New Hire Experience Lead, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Own the end-to-end onboarding strategy, translating company goals into pre-boarding, orientation, and early-tenure programs that scale as headcount grows.
  • Set and track onboarding key performance indicators, including Day 1 readiness, new hire satisfaction, time-to-productivity, and 90-day retention, and report results and trends to human resources leadership.
  • Serve as the escalation point for pre-boarding and onboarding issues the team cannot resolve independently.
  • Oversee the onboarding program budget, including welcome inventory, new hire travel, and orientation materials, and manage related vendor relationships.
  • Partner with Information Technology, Facilities, Recruiting, and hiring manager leadership to resolve systemic communication, equipment, access, and workspace-readiness gaps.
  • Design and continuously improve the orientation program and materials using new hire feedback and business changes.
  • Work with Training & Development to ensure onboarding curriculum and role-based training assignments reflect business needs.
  • Audit human resources information system records and pre-boarding compliance documentation, including screenings, verifications, and I-9 forms, for accuracy and legal compliance.
  • Ensure orientation sessions run consistently across locations and cohorts, and co-facilitate or troubleshoot when needed.
  • Build and maintain onboarding documentation, standard operating procedures, and cross-training materials.
  • Represent onboarding in cross-functional planning with recruiting, human resources systems, and Facilities.
  • Monitor Day 1 attendance and show rate, on-time readiness, new hire satisfaction at 30, 60, and 90 days, time-to-productivity, 90-day voluntary turnover, pre-boarding compliance completion, orientation ratings, and survey response rates.
Desired Qualifications
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar human resources certification.
  • Prior Workday experience.
  • Experience managing onboarding or employee experience programs across multiple locations.
  • Experience using human resources information systems or process automation technology to improve onboarding workflow and new hire experience.
  • Background in the construction, electrical, or industrial services industry.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish proficiency.
