Current enrollment in an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's program in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field at an accredited institution
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess and improve manufacturing processes
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, CAD software, and engineering principles

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the manufacturing engineering team to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancements
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues by applying engineering principles and problem-solving skills
Create and maintain detailed manufacturing process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flowcharts
Collect and analyze data from manufacturing processes to identify trends and areas for improvement
Assist in quality control activities, including inspections, testing, and root cause analysis for non-conforming products
Learn and apply lean manufacturing principles to streamline production processes and reduce waste
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to bring innovative ideas to the team

Desired Qualifications

Familiarity with electronics assemblies
Experience with SMT methods
Experience with CNC manufacturing

As a Manufacturing Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of manufacturing while supporting the daily operations of our organization. This internship is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing or process improvement.

Cesium interns regularly present their work to peers, mentors, and Cesium executive leadership throughout the course of the summer. As such, excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
