- 5+ years experience in systems administration.
- HS diploma or GED.
- Must be Security+ certified.
- Must hold one of the following certifications: Veritas Certified Specialist: VCS-282: Veritas NetBackup 9.1 Administrator; VCS-283: Veritas NetBackup 9.1 and NetBackup Appliance 4.1 Administrator; or VCS-326: Administration of Veritas Backup Exec 21 exam.
- Extensive experience with Veritas NetBackup, SAN attached storage, VADP (VMWare) and NDMP configurations, tape libraries, Windows and Linux operating systems, physical and virtual systems, and other enterprise level backup hardware/software.
- Experience with bare metal restores is required.
- Excellent communication skills, analytical skills to troubleshoot issues, and an ability to conceptualize server infrastructures and configurations.
- Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
- Develop backup and recovery plans, create/modify reports/processes/procedures, monitor system health, optimize system performance, proactively fix issues, identify and resolve network anomalies, conduct trends and analysis, and test/validate backups with quarterly restores.
- Perform annual DISA STIGs compliance checks on all servers and installed software.
- Notify appropriate Information Technical Equipment Custodian (ITEC) or Property Custodian (PC) for all accountable item moves.
- Bundle and conceal all excess system or peripheral cabling after each installation or repair.
