Requirements
  • MA/MS in the field of speech-language pathology
  • Texas state licensure
  • Certificate of clinical competence (clinical fellows considered)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Experience with administration of standardized assessments
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to learn tasks quickly with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work independently with confidential information
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • A class C operator's driver's license
  • Applicant must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence
  • If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
Responsibilities
  • Primary role is the implementation of assessment protocols and data collection.
  • Coordinate with school personnel and families to gather student information and schedule assessments.
  • Collaborate with the associate director on modifications to the study protocol and data collection process.
  • Data entry and composition of brief reports of assessment results.
  • Recruit participants from Austin and surrounding communities, maintain partnerships with school districts and community organizations. Travel to sites to conduct testing including area schools.
  • Maintain communication with participating families to ensure continuity of data.
  • Assist with coordination of participant payments.
  • May provide the supervision, coordination, and management of graduate and undergraduate research assistants hired to assist with projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience as a pediatric speech-language pathologist
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Past experience working on a research project
