Requirements
  • Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles through internships, studies or projects.
  • Must be currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (undergraduate student in your third or fourth year of study, or enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program).
  • Strong interest in flight testing.
  • Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams.
  • Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus's mission.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Work alongside experienced engineers to support the planning, execution, and analysis of flight tests, gaining direct exposure to real-world aerospace challenges.
  • Assist in monitoring test parameters, and interpreting flight data to enhance system performance and safety.
  • Partner with engineers to improve test processes, and develop a deeper understanding of flight dynamics and aircraft systems.

Hermeus is developing hypersonic aircraft capable of reaching speeds of Mach 5, which is over twice the speed of the Concorde. This means the aircraft can travel at approximately 3,800 miles per hour, significantly cutting down travel times. The aircraft operates using a hypersonic engine powered by the Pratt & Whitney F100 turbine, which has already undergone successful testing. Hermeus targets airlines and government agencies as potential clients for its high-speed transportation solutions. Unlike other aerospace companies, Hermeus focuses specifically on hypersonic travel, setting it apart in the industry. The company's goal is to transform air travel by making it faster and more efficient.
