Requirements
  • 5+ years experience managing H&S functions and outsourced vendors.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a Facilities Workplace environment and experience in managing Events
  • Strong knowledge in legal compliance e.g. fire, water systems and asbestos requirements compliance.
  • Minimum of level 5 H&S Qualification e.g. Nebosh Diploma/City & Guilds NVQ
  • Hold auditing experience
Responsibilities
  • Be the subject matter expert for Health & Safety, driving and facilitating corporate governance through the UKI.
  • Provide the business with strategic leadership for health and safety, ensuring that health and safety is taken into account at all levels of the organisation.
  • Advise the UKI Operations Director and Facilities Operations Managers of any potential Health & Safety risks to our people, systems and infrastructure.
  • Create innovative, straightforward and scalable health and safety management frameworks that deliver health and safety excellence and compliance across the UKI taking into account differences in regulatory requirements and WeWork standards.
  • Work closely with the Global Health & Safety Senior Director to ensure company Health and Safety Standards and initiatives are absorbed in UKI.
  • Guide and empower Community Managers to ensure that health and safety requirements are fully implemented, meet legal compliance and are successful on the delivery of the desired outcome.
  • Work closely with the UKI Facilities Operations Managers to ensure robust facilities maintenance regimes are in place to adequately control risks such as fire, legionella, electrical, lifts, asbestos etc.
  • Work closely with the People Team to support and drive wellness programmes, DSE & Maternity Risk Assessments.
  • Work closely with Community to help facilitate first aid & fire safety training.
  • Implement robust and mature monitoring, auditing and reporting processes on health and safety performance, training and compliance. (Including but not limited to accident analysis, training completion rate, regulatory enforcement and H&S auditing).
  • In collaboration with the Security Manager, develop and maintain WeWork’s emergency planning, preparedness and management. (Emergency Action Plans)
  • As required, be the main point of contact for liaising with Enforcement Officers on matters which arise relating to H&S.
  • Conduct due diligence checks through management of UKI vendor H&S vetting process of outsourced vendors.
  • Provide support to organisations the Events Team on H&S requirements, including events management plans and vendor vetting and training.
  • Working with Operations, Community, Development, People Team and all other departments
  • The H&S Manager will build relationships with external vendors to ensure we comply with all regulatory requirements & discuss H&S items monthly.
  • Crucial part of the Operations team & success will be measured on the portfolio performance of H&S through H&S Scorecard.
  • Reporting to the Operations Director whilst having a ‘dotted line’ into the Global H&S Director, the H&S Manager role for UKI has no direct reports.
