Requirements
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license for the state of employment.
  • Work independently and in a team environment.
  • Accurately use basic math skills.
  • Be able to become certified to operate all power equipment.
  • Be able to use maintenance tools, including saws and drills.
  • Be able to read and comprehend labels, tickets, and instructions.
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision and self-motivate.
  • Lift and carry merchandise weighing up to 47 pounds regularly and up to 60 pounds infrequently.
  • Move throughout and around the site frequently for up to 10–12 hours per shift.
  • Work in conditions that may include small spaces, dust, fumes or odors, hot or cold temperatures, indoor or outdoor noise, vibration, prolonged standing on concrete, and wet or uneven surfaces.
  • Access all areas of the Distribution Center, including conveyor crossovers and mezzanine platforms.
  • Have full manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination in both hands, wrists, and feet, including repetitive flexion and rotation.
Responsibilities
  • Support Maintenance Technicians with mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the facility, including servicing and repairing hand tools and minor floor machines.
  • Act as a Qualified Electrical Assistant for electrical safety processes.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with installing and removing assorted equipment throughout the facility.
  • Evaluate and inspect the interior and exterior of the facility to identify upkeep or repair requirements.
  • Change Powered Industrial Truck batteries; perform preventive and corrective battery maintenance; clean and paint battery equipment; maintain battery-changing records; and submit records at shift end.
  • Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot Label Tec printers.
  • Operate hand and power tools, including drills, saws, sanders, grinders, pneumatic tools, and welders.
  • Construct or repair facility assets, including furniture, shelving, racks, and workbenches, using carpentry, welding, and fabrication skills as required.
  • Complete plumbing tasks, including installing or repairing faucets and landscape sprinklers and cleaning stopped drains, sumps, and drains.
  • Perform painting, drywall repairs, concrete patching, and minor concrete replacement.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance programs, including pest control and HVAC, and update associated records.
  • Remove cardboard bales from balers and trash from buildings using large portable dumpsters; maintain orderly building grounds.
  • Operate snow-removal equipment to clean assigned walkways, roads, and parking lots.
  • Drive Target-owned vehicles for yard cleanup, yard-incident response, vendor escort, and parts or materials pickup.
  • Operate power equipment safely, use safe lifting techniques, and promptly assist with spill cleanup.
  • Complete paperwork or material requisitions as requested and maintain daily work-order logs.
  • Use handheld devices and mobile applications to create and close work orders with labor hours, downtime, problem, cause, remedy, and parts-used data.
  • Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment while maintaining equipment, including Lockout/Tagout and Arc Flash procedures, and eliminate safety hazards.
