Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent training and experience and at least 5 years’ related professional experience
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen
  • MSTS conducts pre-employment drug test and background review and applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship and at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to obtain Department of Energy Q clearance (position will be cleared to this level)
  • Project management experience including managing small projects (less than $5 million total project cost) and project teams (fewer than 10 people) through the project lifecycle
  • Maintaining satisfaction of stakeholders with differing needs and expectations
  • Identifying and complying with project requirements in development of products and deliverables supporting the project team in achieving project scope, schedule, and cost objectives
  • Defining, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and successfully completing discrete elements of scope in compliance with schedule, costs, risk, and quality constraints
  • Proficiency in sound engineering practices with respect to design and construction of structures, building code compliance, and basic principles of emergency power systems
  • Design and application of generator sets and transfer switches
  • DC engineering fundamentals
  • DC power systems
  • Data center (IT) backup power systems
  • Technical ability in National Electrical Code (NEC) code compliance
  • Practical application of quality assurance functions

Responsibilities
  • Manage small projects (less than $5 million total project cost) and project teams (fewer than 10 people) through representative project lifecycle phases
  • Maintain stakeholder satisfaction with differing needs and expectations in project execution
  • Identify and comply with project requirements in development of products and deliverables.
  • Define, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close discrete elements of scope in compliance with defined schedule, costs, risk, and quality constraints
  • Provide project management support across various projects and programs including indirect and direct operations, design engineering, conduct of engineering, maintenance, and construction activities related to corrective actions and plans for legacy facility issues and non-compliances
  • Perform weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual project reviews and status reporting
  • Integrate with partner and interfacing directorates/programs/projects to ensure collaborative approach to issues management and project execution
  • Support development and implementation of long-term strategic plans integrated with mission requirements for NNSS future execution
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Infrastructure Programs Project and Program Managers, Facility/Asset Management, Building Authority, Industrial Hygiene organization personnel, and other stakeholders for future NNSS facility investment projects
  • Develop and implement strategies to identify, manage and mitigate risk
  • Host project meetings with team members and key personnel
  • Develop project plans identifying resource and budgetary needs
  • Provide feedback, guidance, and encouragement to team members
  • Manage deadlines and push team to ensure timeliness
  • Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers as necessary
  • Establish and maintain corrective action, risk management, and other files and documents; ensure disposition of corrective actions and update engineering records
  • The primary work location is at the Nevada National Security Site; work schedule is 4/10s Monday through Thursday (subject to change)
  • Pre-placement physical examination and drug screen; background checks and security clearance requirements may apply
  • Adhere to confidentiality and security requirements for information and data
Desired Qualifications
  • Strongly preferred certification in Project Management Professional, International Facility Management Association, or Building Owners and Managers Association (PMP, IFMA, or BOMA)
  • Experience leading or participating as a key contributor with implementation of National Nuclear Security Administration or Institutional initiatives
  • Ability to exercise high degree of accuracy in writing technical documents and ensuring policies and procedures are followed
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to interface with all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge and skills sufficient to develop key project elements including schedule, cost, and risk; strong understanding of project management concepts
