Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in SQL database administration, database development, data engineering, or a similar technical role.
  • Experience with relational database technologies and data normalization.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2022 or higher.
  • Knowledge of database backup and recovery.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Experience producing, reviewing, and updating system and procedural documentation.
  • Experience creating, tuning, and maintaining complex SQL queries.
  • Experience with data warehouse architecture, design, and implementation.
  • Experience with Transact-SQL programming.
  • Experience with SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT).
  • Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Experience designing and maintaining extract, transform, and load (ETL) packages, tasks, and processes.
  • Experience building and maintaining business intelligence and management reports.
  • Experience with SharePoint Online.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio 2013 or higher.
  • Experience with TOAD for SQL Server or SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
  • Experience with Remote Desktop Connection.
  • Experience with United States government-related work, such as Department of Defense or Department of Veterans Affairs work.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in business analytics, engineering, electrical engineering, information technology, computer science, data analytics, or a related scientific or technical discipline is required. Equivalent experience or industry certifications may substitute for formal education, and eight years of additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
Responsibilities
  • Provide support for the Independent Enterprise Testing and Support Services Measurement and Metrics program.
  • Analyze current and potential disparate data sources.
  • Participate in data quality validation.
  • Build, test, schedule, and troubleshoot extract, transform, and load SQL Server Integration Services projects, solutions, and tasks built in SQL Server Data Tools and executed from SQL Server.
  • Measure, analyze, and improve database system performance, availability, sustainability, and security.
  • Discover, troubleshoot, and correct database system issues in real time.
  • Create, modify, and maintain advanced SQL queries.
  • Review proposed database modifications and suggest refinements.
  • Support all phases of solution deployment activities.
  • Plan and perform regular database maintenance.
  • Be available for occasional after-hours activities as needed.
  • Assist with building data visualizations and reports in Power BI or other accepted reporting and data visualization tools.
  • Assist with extracting requirements and assignments for proposed or impending initiatives.
  • Develop database objects, including tables, functions, procedures, views, and database links, in SQL Server using standard operating procedures.
  • Review and retrieve information about processes, policies, and procedures from program documentation.
  • Contribute to or write portions of Testing Process Quality Improvement Measures and Metrics documentation.
  • Support quality and process improvement methodologies to develop and continuously update the Testing Process Quality Improvement Plan.
  • Assist in authoring, reviewing, and revising program and process documentation and artifact templates.
