Job Description

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

To be successful as an UI Developer you should have:

• Extensive hands-on experience with React, React Native, Redux, and TypeScript for building scalable, maintainable user interfaces

• Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles

• Experience with React ecosystem tools including React Router, React Hooks, Context API, and state management patterns

• Knowledge of UI testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress

• Experience with Version Control Software (Git, Stash/SVN) and collaborative development workflows

• Basic understanding of backend technologies including Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture

• Familiarity with API integration and asynchronous data handling in React applications

• Knowledge of AWS/Cloud technologies and modern deployment practices'

Some other highly valued skills include:

• Experience in analytical debugging and performance optimization

• Understanding of design patterns and software architecture principles

• Experience with build tools and bundlers (Webpack, Vite, etc.)

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

• Experience in Software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum)

• Understanding of accessibility standards and cross-browser compatibility
