Requirements
  • Two years of related work experience is required.
  • An active, valid driver's license is required.
  • A good Motor Vehicle Report is required.
  • The employee must be able to perform extensive and heavy physical activity, including carrying loads up to 75 pounds.
  • The employee must have dexterity and fine motor skills and be able to stand, walk, reach, kneel, climb, or balance.
  • The employee must be able to work in all weather conditions and around heavy equipment, loud noise, vibrations, live traffic, and occasionally confined spaces.
  • The employee must have close, color, and peripheral vision.
Responsibilities
  • Perform shoveling, raking, luting, jack hammering, heavy lifting, and other tasks using small tools for asphalt milling and paving.
  • Clean tools, materials, and work areas.
  • Perform manual tasks requiring fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.
  • Perform all tasks safely and comply with company safety policies, including the “Home Safe Tonight” and “AIPS” policies.
  • Communicate with crew members to support safety, teamwork, and completion of daily goals set by the field manager.
  • Use hand and power tools, perform grade checks, operate jackhammers, direct equipment operations, and perform cuts and fills as required by the crew specialty.
  • Work around heavy equipment and power tools, adjacent to live traffic, and occasionally in tight confined spaces such as manholes and inlets.
Desired Qualifications
  • A GED or high school diploma.
  • Trade school education.
  • PennDOT paving quality-control technical experience.
  • TopCon or similar grade-control experience.
  • A commercial driver's license, including Class A, Class B, Tanker, or Hazmat endorsements.
  • Tack truck experience.
