We’re looking for a Database Reliability Engineer who can help change the way we build, operate and manage our data stores. 

Responsibilities

• Strive for automation either by coding or by leading and influencing developers, to build systems that run automatically (ideally) in production.
• Propose and drive architectural changes that affect the whole company to solve scaling and performance problems.
• Work with teams to roll out changes to our production environment and mitigate database-related production incidents.
• On-call support on rotation with the team.
• Provide database expertise to engineering teams, for example through reviews of database migrations, queries and performance optimizations.
• Support and debug database production issues.

Requirements 

Database Skills

• Experience of implementing, running and managing highly performant and highly available Aurora and/or PostgreSQL databases, preferably in a DBA role.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery processes.

Engineering Skills

• Programming skills in a high-level language (Python or Go a plus).
• Familiarity with cloud technologies, preferably AWS. 
• Experience with infrastructure as code, ideally with Terraform.
