  • 12 + years relevant experience
  • 5+ years of direct managerial experience, including managing multiple functions, especially small to medium security cadre
  • Possess active Top Security clearance with the ability to gain SCI clearance
  • Working experience to obtain rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations to ensure compliance with security
  • Team player and flexible to the needs of the stakeholders in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated excellent judgment and background implementing strategic security initiatives
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills; ability to assess incident/ environmental reports and ensure consistent standards that will relieve liabilities and continue AV's great standing with all regulatory agencies
  • In-depth knowledge of NISPOM, ISL letters, Executive Orders, DoD Directives, ISO 14001/45001/27001 in a heavily regulated environment
  • In-depth knowledge of DoD Closed Area construction/maintenance requirements
  • Working knowledge of the DISS, ODAA process and COMSEC requirements for DoD IS systems
  • Working knowledge of explosives: handling and storage of 1.4 and integration handling of 1.1
  • Working knowledge of government databases: DISS, E-QUIP, ISFD, eFCL
  • Knowledge of eMASS
  • Knowledge of Risk management framework and Information Asurance requirements
  • Ability to analyze problems and implement global or site specific CAPAs
  • Some knowledge of ITAR
  • General understanding of Laser Safety
  • General understanding of DOT, IATA and IMDG
  • Familiar with corporate alarm, badge and camera systems
  • Familiar with classification management process & guides associated with DoD
  • Computer skills with proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

  • Provides direction on development, preparation, and implementation of security procedures that will ensure compliance with corresponding regulations, regulatory obligations and implementing “Best in Class” standards
  • Develops global security standards, creation of department strategic direction and maintaining security KPIs
  • Provides guidance on various program tailored OPSEC, facility policies, procedures and plans for the entire organization
  • Chairs meetings, selects security training requirements for all AeroVironment employees, and attends audits/assessments as required
  • Manages AeroVironment's classified security list in accordance with government, contract(s) and AV procedures
  • Provides oversight and guidance to direct reports for classified activities and other related obligations
  • Ensures secure spaces are compliant with accreditation bodies through audits and monitoring submittals for initial accreditation
  • Tracks and updates security education and awareness training; investigates security violations and incidents; reviews reports specifying compliance driven CAPAs
  • Provides regular updates to management team on the health of security programs through KPIs and other leading indicators
  • Monitors and measures AeroVironment's security status and identify future risk with the evolvement of AV operations and R&D processes
