Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Prioritize the safety of themselves and their coworkers above all else.
  • Perform quality control testing to ensure products conform to specifications prior to release, including blend oil sample testing, package filling sample testing, bulk truck and rail shipping sample testing, bulk truck and rail receiving sample testing, and tank-to-tank transfer sample testing.
  • Use SAP and other computerized systems to support daily operational activities and transactions.
  • Recommend updates or changes to existing formulations to optimize blend properties, where applicable.
  • Perform blend formulation and laboratory functions within the SAP R/3 system.
  • Conduct trial blends of new and modified products to develop updated formulations that meet LQS standards, when requested.
  • Ensure all lubricant oil and grease formulations remain strictly confidential.
  • Determine corrective actions for off-specification products, including up-treating, reblending, or other disposition methods, while optimizing costs and ensuring compliance with product requirements.
  • Test, assess, and recommend corrective actions for non-conforming products in coordination with the Quality Manager.
  • Conduct validation and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure accurate testing results.
  • Monitor Statistical Process Control data for selected lubricant products to maintain LQS reduced-testing requirements.
  • Assist the Quality Manager and Regional Area Product Manager with the development and implementation of site and regional quality initiatives and programs.
  • Troubleshoot laboratory equipment issues and test method problems.
  • Follow Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental guidelines in the performance of duties and responsibilities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Relevant post-secondary education.
  • Relevant experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, quality, or related industrial environment.
  • Experience with viscosity measurement, Total Acid Number, pH testing, particle count analysis, reserve alkalinity testing, general titration techniques, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, and Inductively Coupled Plasma Analysis.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and continuously develop technical skills.
  • Experience with SAP or similar enterprise systems.

ExxonMobil bids $8B for Shell's US chemicals division amid margin pressure concerns

ExxonMobil has joined bidders for Shell's US chemicals division, which includes four plants in Louisiana, Texas, and Pennsylvania and could fetch around $8 billion. Shell is selling assets that recently contributed to its quarterly earnings as part of ongoing portfolio reshaping. The potential acquisition would expand ExxonMobil's US chemicals presence but does not materially alter its near-term focus on execution in the Permian Basin and Guyana. TotalEnergies acquires Shell's European renewables business with 3.5GW pipeline

TotalEnergies has agreed to acquire Shell's entire onshore renewables business in Europe. The deal includes 500 MW of operational or under-construction solar and wind assets, primarily in Italy and the Netherlands, plus a 3.5 GW pipeline of solar, wind, and battery storage projects across Italy, the UK, and Spain. Completion is expected by late 2026, pending regulatory approval. The acquisition will strengthen TotalEnergies' European Integrated Power strategy, adding to its existing portfolio of roughly 10 GW in gross capacity and 27 GW under development. TotalEnergies reported second-quarter adjusted net income of $6.0 billion and cash flow from operations of $9.8 billion. Shell slips 0.6% as Hormuz diplomacy strips war premium from oil prices

Shell shares declined 0.6% to $91.69 as Brent crude fell for the third consecutive session to approximately $86.38 per barrel. The drop followed Iran-Oman diplomatic talks that raised hopes for safer shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, reducing geopolitical risk premiums in oil prices. The integrated oil and gas company reported strong second-quarter results with $9.8 billion in adjusted earnings, $21.4 billion in operating cash flow and $17.5 billion in free cash flow. Net debt decreased to $41.8 billion. Shell converted roughly 82 cents of every operating cash flow dollar into free cash flow, demonstrating financial strength to maintain dividends and buybacks. Shell and oil majors see profits double amid market volatility, not price gouging

US President Donald Trump has accused oil companies of price gouging and called for a Department of Justice review as oil prices rise amid Middle East geopolitical tensions. Major oil companies have reported strong earnings in the first half of 2026. Shell's earnings more than doubled to $2.94 per share from $1.40, whilst revenues rose 22%. Chevron saw earnings surge to $7.23 per share from $3.46, with revenues up 28%. ExxonMobil's earnings increased roughly 66% to $5.60 per share, with revenues up around 22%. The companies operate in commodity markets where prices are determined by market forces rather than individual firms, contradicting price-gouging allegations despite consumer and political concerns about rising fuel costs.
