Requirements
  • One of the following certifications is required or must be obtained within six months of hire: Certified Medical Assistant verified through the American Association of Medical Assistants; Registered Medical Assistant verified through American Medical Technologists; National Certified Medical Assistant verified through the National Center for Competency Testing; or Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry verified through the American Association of Medical Assistants.
  • Ongoing competency and skills assessment is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform patient interviews and measure vital signs, including pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
  • Perform phlebotomy, injections, electrocardiograms, spirometry, specimen collection, and immunization administration.
  • Record patient information on charts.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
  • Collect and enter data into the electronic medical record.
  • Provide patient education.
  • Work closely with providers and fellow staff members to ensure quality patient care and satisfaction.
  • Communicate and work as part of the care team.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience in family practice, neurology, pain management, and internal medicine is preferred.
  • Multilingual ability is a plus.
