Responsibilities
  • Maintain the CMDB by ensuring all configuration items (CIs) are accurately identified, documented, and updated.
  • Implement and enforce CMDB policies, processes, and procedures to maintain data integrity and consistency.
  • Regularly audit the CMDB to identify and rectify discrepancies, duplicates, and inconsistencies.
  • Perform data normalization and standardization to improve CMDB accuracy and usability.
  • Define and maintain CI types, classes, and attributes based on industry standards and organizational requirements.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify and classify CIs, including hardware, software, infrastructure, and services.
  • Establish relationships between CIs to accurately represent dependencies and configurations.
  • Integrate CMDB with other IT Service Management (ITSM) tools and systems to facilitate data exchange and process automation.
  • Develop and maintain scripts, tools, and workflows for automated CI discovery, population, and updates.
  • Collaborate with software developers and system administrators to enhance CMDB functionality and integration capabilities.
  • Generate and distribute reports on CMDB health, compliance, and performance metrics.
  • Analyze CMDB data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to optimize configuration management processes and workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT operations, service desk, change management, and asset management, to ensure alignment and consistency.
  • Communicate CMDB updates, changes, and best practices to stakeholders and end-users.
  • Provide training and support to users on CMDB usage, processes, and tools.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) and automation tools is a plus.
  • ITIL Foundation certification or relevant ITSM certifications preferred.
  • Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable.
