Responsibilities
  • Assists security and instructional personnel on monitoring students’ activities and in walking through the school or farm property.
  • Engages in school-wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) practices and restorative practices when engaging with students.
  • Helps to maintain order in the dining areas during the breakfast and lunch periods and the school play areas during recess.
  • Ensures that students clean their respective eating areas prior to leaving the cafeteria, removes residual debris in between breakfast and lunch periods as needed; may assist in delivering breakfast and lunch to students.
  • Uses de-escalation, mediation, conflict resolution skills and restorative agreement for a safe school climate.
  • Works with school staff to maintain a calm, structured safe environment for all students, including students who have experienced trauma related incidents.
  • Watches over students in transition, hallways and common areas; ensures that students are respectful, organized, always safe and responsible.
  • Performs other duties related to school climate and safety as assigned by the Principal.
