- Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology.
- An active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any United States state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
- An NPI report printout.
- An active Drug Enforcement Administration license.
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above the shoulders during the work shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to carry up to 40 pounds a reasonable distance.
- Ability to push or pull with 30 pounds of force.
- Provide full-scope Anesthesiology care in clinics, operating rooms, and procedural areas.
- Arrive on time for all scheduled procedures and clinics.
- Deliver anesthesia care for cardiac surgery, orthopedic joint replacements, major vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, neurosurgical surgery, plastic surgery, ear, nose, and throat surgery, urologic surgery, and ophthalmologic surgery.
- Provide anesthesia support for electroconvulsive therapy, the cardiac catheterization laboratory, electrophysiology, the gastrointestinal laboratory, and radiology suites.
- Provide care for surgical intensive care unit patients, short-stay units, acute and chronic pain management, emergency airway management, and diagnostic transesophageal echocardiography.
- Perform consultations at the bedside or in clinic.
- Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions.
- Provide anesthesia coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Be available by phone within 15 minutes and onsite within 60 minutes.
- Participate in rotating call coverage with one provider after 3:30 PM.
- Attend monthly staff meetings.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and complete required documentation.
- Complete quality management and performance improvement documentation, patient safety reporting, and other required administrative tasks.
