Conviva is seeking a Head of Infrastructure Engineering and Technical Operations to lead our hybrid cloud infrastructure and ensure the reliable, secure, and scalable delivery of our technology services. The ideal candidate will be a strong technical leader with a strong engineering background and discipline, a passion for cloud and on-premises infrastructure and a proven track record of building and scaling high-performing operations and DevOps teams.
What Success Will Look Like:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for hybrid cloud infrastructure, covering both public cloud and on-premises data centers, aligned with business objectives.
- Engineering Leadership & Team Development: Build and lead a team of DevOps, Systems and Networking engineers fostering a collaborative culture focused on scalable, secure, and resilient engineering solutions.
- Platform Unification & CI/CD Integration: Spearhead initiatives to unify cloud, CI/CD, and operational platforms to enhance deployment agility and system reliability across the organization.
- Operational Excellence & SRE Practices: Establish and drive Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, including incident management, change management, and continuous improvement, to ensure platform stability and swift resolution of production issues.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with development, product, and customer support teams to ensure platform capabilities meet internal and external stakeholder needs and communicate effectively on operational priorities and incident response.
- Cost Management & Optimization: Lead efforts to optimize operational costs, manage vendor relationships, and ensure efficient allocation of the hybrid cloud budget.
- Innovation & Industry Insight: Remaincurrent with new technologies and industry trends to continuously refine the hybrid cloud roadmap and position the company for long-term success.
Who You Are & What You’ve Done:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in hybrid cloud or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure teams.
- Strong engineering background, including experience in software development and leading technical teams in cloud and hybrid cloud environments.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud infrastructure and hybrid cloud architecture, with expertise in both on-prem and cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), as well as containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficient in automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Chef) and experienced with data center management, scaling and high-volume data processing.
- Demonstrated technical depth in modern data storage, edge computing, and large-scale traffic ingestion.
- A strong passion for observability, performance monitoring, and system reliability, with a strong commitment to implementing robust monitoring and alerting practices.
- Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and cost optimization initiatives across cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
- Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends, with previous experience in early-stage startups a plus.
The expected salary range for this full-time position is $275,000 - $350,000 + equity + benefits. Compensation and the specific job level are determined by various factors, including your qualifications, experience, and relevant education or training.
