Requirements
  • At least 10 years of experience in network software product development.
  • At least 5 years of experience as an engineering manager or lead engineer.
  • Deep understanding of 802.11ac and 802.11n Wi-Fi protocols.
  • Proficiency in C and C++ for real-time embedded systems.
  • Expertise in improving software performance for networking devices.
  • Experience developing, extending, and using simulators.
  • Knowledge of BRCM and QCA architectures and chipsets.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and IPv6.
  • Operating-system experience, especially Linux kernel and driver programming.
  • Knowledge of Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy, and iBeacon.
  • Background using Agile, Scrum, test-driven development, and continuous integration.
  • At least 5 years of experience as an engineer.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Build and run a team that solves complex real-world Wi-Fi performance problems.
  • Drive products toward the highest possible performance.
  • Build systems that dynamically retune Wi-Fi settings as the environment changes.
  • Create tools that project how to deploy 802.11ac Wi-Fi networks in different situations.
  • Hire and train software developers in Sunnyvale, California and Portland, Oregon.
  • Spend approximately half the time leading the team and half innovating solutions and writing C and C++ code.
  • Analyze real-world deployments to identify what is and is not working well.
  • Develop methods to capture information for use as real-world input for the simulator.
  • Build a simulator that serves as the back-end engine for deployment-planning tools.
  • Provide automated testing of Wi-Fi devices for high performance and reliability.
  • Help ensure that new products achieve maximum performance from their components.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience at Meru Networks, Aruba Networks, Broadcom, Qualcomm, Ruckus Wireless, or the wireless division of Cisco Systems.
