Stout, a global advisory firm, has launched a dedicated Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) Consulting practice to advise companies and trustees on employee ownership sustainability and capital allocation strategy. The practice will be led by Damien Vira, who recently joined from Principal. The new offering builds on Stout's decades of ESOP advisory experience and provides strategic guidance on long-term sustainability and capital planning for ESOP-owned businesses. The practice combines sustainability consulting with Stout's existing expertise in valuation, corporate finance and other advisory services. The launch comes as employee ownership gains traction across the United States, with companies increasingly exploring ESOPs for succession planning and aligning employee incentives with long-term performance. The practice will help trustees and companies analyse sustainability, anticipate repurchase obligations and design strategies for financial strength.
Stout acquires Pointe Advisory, forms strategy practice. Stout, a Chicago-based investment bank and advisory firm, has acquired strategy consultancy Pointe Advisory and formed a new strategy practice. Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Arlington, VA, Pointe Advisory provides services in growth strategy, market intelligence, and commercial due diligence to Fortune 500s, private equity, and mid-market companies. The firm has industry expertise in healthcare, industrials, and professional services. The transaction, which closed on December 16, 2025, adds approximately 100 professionals to Stout and enables the firm to provide a broader suite of services spanning strategic planning and commercial roadmaps, opportunity identification, market research, and go-to-market strategy. "This combination represents a meaningful step forward for Stout in the scale of our platform and the depth of expertise we are bringing to our clients," said Cory Thompson, co-chief client service officer at Stout. "Pointe Advisory has built a highly respected team with a differentiated ability to translate complex market data into clear, actionable investment and operating strategies." The deal is Stout's second acquisition since Integrum Holdings bought the advisory firm in July 2025 from Audax Private Equity. Audax exited its stake in Stout after four years of ownership. "This is the ideal time to join forces with the phenomenal team at Stout. Strategy is only useful if implemented," said Stuart Ferguson, managing partner at Pointe Advisory. "And with Stout, we are able to pair our strategic recommendations with the firm's financial, operational, and transaction expertise." Clearsight Advisors served as exclusive financial advisory to Pointe Advisory on the transaction. Stout was founded in 1991 and has more than 1,000 people across offices in the US, Europe, and Asia. The firm provides services in accounting and transaction advisory, corporate finance, valuation, financial disputes, claims, and investigations.
Stout expands Business & Professional Services coverage. Stout announced a strategic expansion of its Business & Professional Services practice within the Investment Banking group with the addition of Managing Director Connor Mitchell and Director Chris Vincent. With extensive experience advising founder-owned, corporate, and private equity-backed companies across key services end markets, Connor and Chris bring complementary skill sets that deepen Stout's capabilities and enhance its growing platform. Their additions reflect the firm's continued momentum and commitment to expanding its presence across the broader services landscape. Connor Mitchell joins Stout as a Managing Director with deep experience in M&A and capital-raising advisory. With more than 45 completed transactions totaling over $4 billion, he has executed engagements across consulting and risk services and human capital management, with deep expertise in office-of-the-CFO services, private equity-as-a-market services, specialty consulting, professional staffing, and healthcare staffing. Prior to Stout, Connor served in senior roles within the Business Services groups at Cascadia Capital and Solomon Partners, and he previously co-founded the Chicago office of FocalPoint Partners (acquired in 2022). Chris Vincent joins as a Director in Stout's Investment Banking group, where he focuses on commercial and residential services and specialty distribution within the infrastructure and industrial sectors. Before joining Stout, Chris was a Director in D.A. Davidson's Diversified Industrials group and held investment banking roles at BlackArch Partners. "This expansion reflects Stout's ongoing investment in top-tier talent and our commitment to providing exceptional outcomes for clients across the services landscape," said Mark Abbott, Head of Business & Professional Services in the Investment Banking group. "Connor and Chris bring outstanding experience and insight, and their addition further strengthens our ability to support clients through complex and highly strategic decisions."
