Requirements
  • Three years of experience in the construction field performing work in a commercial or residential setting.
  • One year of building maintenance experience.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to appropriately manage the anger, fear, hostility, or violence of others.
  • Ability to manage stress appropriately.
  • Ability to perform shift work, on-call work, and work alone.
  • Ability to use personal protective equipment, a fitted respirator, and latex gloves.
  • Ability to work in confined and crowded areas.
  • Ability to meet the listed physical demands, including depth perception, color vision, finger and manual dexterity, repetitive arm and hand movements, reaching above the shoulders, walking six hours per day, hearing alarms, phones, and tape recorders, and frequent pushing and pulling of up to 200 pounds.
  • Ability to perform occasional stooping and kneeling.
Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of skilled and unskilled construction tasks on assigned renovation and new construction projects supporting the healthcare mission of Princeton Community Hospital and its facilities.
  • Frame with metal studs.
  • Measure, cut, and hang drywall.
  • Finish drywall by taping, sanding, and applying a finish.
  • Frame and hang doors.
  • Install electrical conduit and pull wiring.
  • Install a variety of electrical devices and safely terminate connections.
  • Install and hang HVAC ductwork and devices.
  • Rough in and install new plumbing fixtures, valves, and supply, drain, and vent lines.
  • Install different types of flooring materials.
Desired Qualifications
  • Completion of an educational curriculum from a trade or vocational school.
  • A license or certification in at least one construction discipline: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.
