Who we are looking for
The Director of Technology role will lead development and growth of Re:Build’s metallic technology in Re:Build’s core market segments. The primary responsibility will be to leverage Re:Build’s current capabilities to grow existing customer content and capture new opportunties, by establishing the costing, lead time, and manufacturing process approach. The Director of Technology will provide direct customer engagement for assemblies or components, develop supply chain relationships, and onboard the work to our existing sites. This role will capture needs of our customers to further develop our internal technical road map for metallic processs capability across Re:Build Manufacturing.

- Investigate and recommend new applications for Re:Build’s existing metallic capability portfolio
- Orchestrate multi-site initiatives for metallic product design and fabrication to best utilize current Re:Build capabilities and capacity
- Investigate and recommend new technology capabilities as it related to metallic manufacturing processes
- Provide technical guidance as a subject matter expert to external customers and internal sites
- Lead technical execution of metallic assemblies and components
- Lead DFM and support site level quoting efforts
- Develop key partnerships with existing and new supply base for metallic treatment and post processing capabilities
- Provide recommendations related to long term insourcing and outsourcing strategies
- Introduce group tools and processes that inspires creative thinking
What you bring to the Team
- 4-year bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required. A master’s degree or higher is preferred
- Proficiency in presentation skills and computer literacy
- Proficiency in advanced CAD/CAM software
- Minimum 15 years in metallics processes, specifically in 3/5 axis machining and complex assemblies
- Experience with welding, bonding, brazing, soldering and bonding of dissimilar metals.
- Experience with forging, sheeting metal, and hydroforming
- Experience with emerging technologies in metallics fabrication, such as additive manufacturing for metals
- Familiarity and background in a variety of applications or industries such as Medical, UAM, UAV, Commercial Aerospace, Defense and/or Space
- Adept in a wide variety of advanced metallic treatments, processes, applications, and material knowledge
- Leadership of cross functional teams without direct reporting authority
