  • 8+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent (optional).
  • Professional Engineer professional certification with the ability to obtain licensure in multiple states.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering, formal/informal communication, teamwork, and leadership.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Effective time and workload management skills, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks with a focus on detail.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction drawing and specification packages.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction practices and constructability.
  • Working knowledge of project management principles.
  • Experience with proposal writing and project estimating.
  • Familiar with applicable codes and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318).
  • Knowledge of shallow and deep foundations, including spread footings, slab-on-grade, piles and concrete caissons.
  • Knowledge of connection and anchorage design such as cast-in-place, post installed, welds and high-strength bolts.
  • Familiar with steel member design, including wide flange, channel, pipe, plate, and angle sections.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) a must.
  • Proficient with structural engineering software, such as Mathcad, STAAD, RISA, Robot, Enercalc, and LPile a plus.
  • Background in geotechnical engineering, solar and wind energy, transmission and distribution, and substations a plus.
  • AutoCAD or Revit drafting experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in 3D Modeling (AutoCAD Civil 3D).
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Responsibilities
  • Serve as an SME, providing technical oversight and design support for renewable energy projects by analyzing complex projects to identify design requirements, uncertainties, and constraints.
  • Understand client interests and developing approaches to address these concerns.
  • Identify project situations that present high risks or scope gaps.
  • Offer solutions to design teams to mitigate risks.
  • Utilize relevant skills or expertise to assist projects and team members with design challenges.
  • Stay updated on changes to standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Confidently providing design teams with technical input, mentorship, and on-the-job training.
  • Actively participate in detailed project design.
  • Serving as the Engineer of Record (EOR) in a responsible role on projects.
  • Performing complete design for challenging, complex, or high-risk projects.
  • Providing active design support for ongoing projects.
  • Proactively coordinating with design teams to review and deliver feedback on designs.
  • Reviewing project documents for compliance with standards and quality assurance.
  • Assisting with project construction by addressing contractor and owner inquiries, including Requests for Information (RFIs) and submittal reviews.
  • Assist with official communication on specific assignments/meetings.
  • Coordinate technical activities and designs with personnel in other disciplines and departments.
  • Collaborate with and support teams in other offices to optimize workload distribution.
  • Proactively coordinate directly with design teams to review and provide feedback on designs for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Provide EOR oversight of design tasks and final EOR review on assigned projects.
  • Review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
  • Identify project circumstances that are high-risk or scope gaps.
  • Provide design teams with solutions to mitigate risk.
  • Engage actively with Lead Engineers to offer mentorship on complex conversations and situations.
  • Identify growth and learning opportunities for project teams.
  • Prepare and deliver organized technical training to the Service.
  • Actively participate in staff mentorship and training programs.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to initiate and execute process enhancements.
  • Advise Service leadership on strategies to enhance team satisfaction and performance.
  • Support positive interactions with clients and directly coordinate with them.
  • Act as the primary technical expert for clients.
  • Assist Market Directors as needed with marketing efforts and the creation of marketing materials.
  • Provide clients with accurate design deliverables that align closely with contract requirements.
  • Respond to client requests promptly.
