Microelectronics Engineer
Key Role:
Serve as a strategic technical consultant to various government research organizations helping oversee the creation and execution of advanced government-funded research and development programs in application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) microelectronics. Work with world-class scientists and engineers to impact national security investments through the development of cutting-edge technologies. Leverage technical expertise to provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support of senior DoD decision-makers. Maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs. Assist with the management of programs and facilitate the transition of program deliverables to DoD stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience with compound semiconductor growth or MMIC fabrication such as GaN, SiC, or GaAs
- Experience with nanoscale and microscale material characterization and metrology, such as atomic force microscopy (AFM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Raman, or time-domain thermoreflectance (TDTR)
- Knowledge of semiconductor device physics, particularly for RF and power applications
- Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of the time to accommodate client needs
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Master’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with performing or supporting government-sponsored research activities
- Experience with ultra-wide bandgap semiconductors, including materials characterization, device properties, or fabrication
- Knowledge of conventional microelectronics fabrication tools and processes (e.g. lithography, physical vapor deposition (PVD), chemical mechanical polishing (CMP))
- Top Secret clearance
- Doctorate degree in Physics or Electrical, Materials Science, or Computer Engineering

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
