Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED, equivalent work experience, and trade or technical school classes.
  • Passed Tech Skills level 4 with a score of 80% or better.
  • A valid Environmental Protection Agency certificate.
  • Three to five years of experience in construction HVAC, refrigeration, or a related industry.
  • Experience with ice machines and chillers.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical control systems.
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration equipment and refrigeration equipment piping.
  • Knowledge of computer-controlled systems.
  • Ability to read and understand refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing blueprints.
  • A valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to pump down all refrigeration systems and reclaim refrigerant from all types of systems.
  • Good communication and presentation skills and excellent customer service.
  • Ability to understand and follow company policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.
  • Ability to use typical business tools, including email, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work safely at heights, around refrigeration and HVAC equipment, and in adverse field conditions while using required personal protective equipment and safe work practices.
Responsibilities
  • Repair and overhaul customer equipment, including compressors, water pumps, air handlers, and electrical and mechanical control devices, safely, efficiently, and timely.
  • Repair refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment, including air-conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice-machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors.
  • Perform preventive maintenance by diagnosing equipment malfunctions and operating deficiencies in mechanical equipment.
  • Process job tickets and work orders for the necessary department.
  • Train new or less-qualified technicians as needed.
  • Maintain proper truck inventory and drive the company vehicle safely.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
