Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant technical field.
  • Experienced project implementation or operational experience, preferably in the utility industry.
  • Proficiency with communicating technical concepts and presenting to customers.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including ability to make clear observations and conclusions based on customer interviews and data.
  • Strong time / project management and organization skills.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel to domestic or international locations.
  • Ability to remain flexible and effective under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in the operations or engineering group of a gas utility or oil & gas energy provider.
  • Experience working with or deploying real-time control systems including SCADA solutions.
  • 5+ years of engineering or oil & gas industry operations experience.
  • Knowledge of computer architecture, databases, and operating systems.
  • Knowledge of IT systems and data center designs.
  • Knowledge of oil & gas measurement principles and hydraulics.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute system build plans accounting for software architecture, information security, and hardware deployment.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their operational needs, provide system training, and configuration to meet their needs.
  • Own the technical Professional Services aspects, including implementation of the overall proposed system design, of Aspen Tech’s products for real-time critical infrastructure control systems.
  • Perform system and acceptance testing with the end customers.
  • Work closely with product development and product management teams to enhance Aspen Tech’s products into the future.
  • Travel to customer sites and work directly with customers to successfully deliver, test, and integrate systems.
  • Represent AspenTech in a superior manner with an excellent attitude.
  • Manage assigned projects with care, concern, and diligence.
  • Be decisive and innovative when resolving issues.

Emerson Acquires AspenTech for $265/Share

Emerson has completed its acquisition of all outstanding shares of Aspen Technology, making AspenTech a wholly owned subsidiary. The acquisition followed a tender offer for $265 per share, with 72% of shares tendered. AspenTech's shares have ceased trading on NASDAQ. Antonio Pietri will retire as CEO, with Vincent M. Servello appointed as President. The transaction was advised by Goldman Sachs, Centerview Partners, and Davis Polk & Wardwell.

Emerson to Acquire AspenTech for $7.2B

Emerson has agreed to acquire the remaining shares of AspenTech that it does not already own for $265 per share, in a deal valued at $7.2 billion. Emerson currently holds approximately 57% of AspenTech's shares. Once the transaction is completed, AspenTech will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Emerson. The acquisition is expected to be finalized in the first half of 2025.
