Cyvl is a geospatial technology company that provides an infrastructure intelligence platform to help government entities and civil engineering firms manage physical infrastructure more efficiently. The platform combines artificial intelligence, LiDAR data, and 360° imagery to automatically assess transportation infrastructure, including pavements, sidewalks, and assets like traffic signs and trees. It maps and analyzes these assets to create a data-driven overview of their condition, enabling maintenance scheduling, budget planning, and long-term public works decisions. Unlike traditional methods that rely on manual surveys, Cyvl automates asset assessment and delivers scalable, up-to-date insights via a software-as-a-service model. The company’s goal is to streamline asset management and support smarter, evidence-based decisions for infrastructure projects.

Cyvl raises nearly $3M to help US towns save billions on road maintenance with AI

Cyvl, a startup using AI and sensors to help municipalities manage infrastructure, has closed the second tranche of its Series A1 funding round in September 2025. The company was founded by Worcester Polytechnic Institute graduates who developed machine learning technology to analyse road conditions using sensors mounted on vehicles. MassVentures, Massachusetts's quasi-public venture capital agency, provided crucial early support when traditional investors were hesitant to back first-time founders in the GovTech sector. The agency led Cyvl's first venture round in 2022, raising nearly $3 million, and has participated in two subsequent rounds. Cyvl now serves 300 cities and towns nationwide, with 70 in Massachusetts. The company's analytics help municipalities allocate infrastructure budgets more efficiently, with clients reporting 5-10% savings on public works projects. Cyvl expects one in three Americans will drive on roads managed by its software by late 2026.

EXWAYZ aims to establish a new 3D localization standard for autonomous robotics.

EXWAYZ aims to establish a new 3D localization standard for autonomous robotics. To contact us: [email protected]. In autonomous robotics, the reliability of navigation remains one of the major technological barriers. When robots move through ports, tunnels, metal warehouses, or dense urban areas, GPS signals degrade, reflect, or disappear. This instability limits large-scale industrial uses and slows down the automation of operations. This is precisely the problem that Exwayz, a deeptech startup founded in 2021, has chosen to address. The company has developed a SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) technology designed to operate in real-time on any robot equipped with a LiDAR. The goal is to provide centimeter-level, robust localization that is completely independent of GPS. The Exwayz SLAM solution integrates directly into the perception pipelines of players in robotics, logistics, or autonomous mobility, without requiring hardware modifications. It enhances systems operating in critical environments where navigation conditions fluctuate significantly. Industrial applications are multiplying as 3D mapping becomes a prerequisite for automating logistics flows. In Switzerland, the scale-up Embotech relies on Exwayz to control autonomous trucks in ports and hubs where GNSS signals are unusable. The Port of Rotterdam plans to deploy thirty autonomous vehicles integrating Exwayz in 2026. Meanwhile, the American company Cyvl.ai, specialized in geospatialization for communities, uses Exwayz SLAM to produce 3D maps of road networks on a large scale, necessary for predictive maintenance. The advantage of Exwayz is both technological and operational. The solution delivers a stable level of accuracy even in highly disturbed environments, making it a strategic tool for industrial players looking to reduce integration time and dependence on multiple sensors. The startup positions itself in a segment where demand is exploding: autonomous robotics in complex environments, port automation, industrial inspection, road mapping, and autonomous heavy machinery. Hassan Bouchiba, CEO and co-founder, summarizes the company's ambition in these terms: 'Our mission is to make 3D localization accessible to all manufacturers of autonomous systems. We want to remove the current limitations of robotics and pave the way for new industrial uses.' This objective also includes scaling up teams in algorithms, 3D vision, and data science to strengthen the platform's capabilities. Exwayz is supported by the deeptech accelerator CentraleSupélec and holds the BPI Deeptech certification. These markers play a strategic role in a French sector seeking to position itself on the essential software components for autonomous vehicles, logistics robots, or automated inspection systems. Exwayz has just raised one million euros in a round led by CentraleSupélec Venture, including a grant obtained as part of the i-Lab competition (France 2030). This funding should accelerate the industrial deployment of its SLAM technology and strengthen its commercial capabilities in Europe and the United States.
