OverviewAs the Field Product Lead for Copilot, you’ll combine business insight, industry expertise, and technical experience to engage GitHub’s senior leaders and strategic customers, demonstrating how Copilot can improve productivity, tackle real-world challenges, and streamline software development. Serving as a trusted advisor, you’ll drive product strategies across customer segments, delivering thought leadership on Copilot’s role within GitHub’s ecosystem and its potential to address evolving customer needs.
In this role, you’ll be the go-to Copilot product expert within the revenue organization, connecting revenue and EPD teams, and representing the voice of the customer in every aspect of the development process. Your strategic insights and close collaboration with cross-functional teams will guide customers into a new era of AI-enhanced software development, transforming their approach and driving long-term engagement with GitHub.
ResponsibilitiesCustomer and Industry Insights
- Synthesizes customer feedback and industry insights to recommend strategic adjustments in Copilot’s product roadmap, aligning GitHub’s solutions to customer challenges and emerging trends. Partners closely with engineering and design teams to shape a roadmap that meets both current and anticipated market needs.
- Leverages relationships with key customers and industry leaders to inform product strategies, ensuring that GitHub Copilot’s capabilities address the broader productivity and innovation needs across the industry.
Trusted Advisor
- Establishes a trusted advisory role with internal teams and customer stakeholders, sharing best practices, providing strategic product insights, and fostering strong connections across revenue and EPD teams to advance customer success.
- Serves as the voice of the customer, delivering feedback to GitHub’s product and engineering teams and advocating for product improvements that enhance customer experience and elevate GitHub Copilot as a leader in AI-enhanced development.
Education and Thought Leadership
- Drives engagement and excitement around GitHub Copilot by collaborating with Global Enablement to provide training, demos, and guidance to Solution Engineers and
- Customer Success Architects, inspiring enthusiasm and deeper knowledge of Copilot’s value.
- Partners with Customer Success Copilot Practice Lead to align adoption blueprints with product strategy, guiding customers in maximizing the value from Copilot’s latest features and cultivating long-term engagement with GitHub’s AI-driven vision.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience in technical consulting, technical consultative selling, practice building, or related technical/sales/industry experience
- OR Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 8+ years experience in technical consulting, technical consultative selling, practice building, or related technical/sales/industry experience
- OR Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 6+ years experience in technical consulting, technical consultative selling, practice building, or related technical/sales/industry experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years experience in digital transformation or using technology (e.g., Developer Experience, CI/CD, App Security, Software Engineering, AI, Machine Learning) to drive customer business outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in business consulting, consultative selling, or change management.
- 3+ years experience orchestrating complex projects and/or leading projects within complex organizational structures.
Compensation RangeThe base salary range for this job is USD $102,200.00 - USD $270,970.00 /Yr.
In addition, this role also has the opportunity to earn sales incentives. On target earnings (OTE) is based on a 70/30 base salary/sales incentive.
These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual’s base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
