Requirements
  • A college diploma in legal secretarial studies or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience as a legal secretary and/or legal assistant is required.
  • Very good knowledge of the Windows environment, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint is required.
  • Fluency in spoken and written French is required.
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written English is mandatory.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize effectively, are required.
  • The ability to work with little supervision and demonstrate initiative, accuracy, and thoroughness is required.
  • Discretion and the ability to perform all duties with complete confidentiality are required.
  • Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
  • Candidates who advance to the next step must complete a mandatory criminal record check; other background checks may be conducted based on operational requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to lawyers working in CBC/Radio-Canada's Legal Services in Montreal.
  • Coordinate office activities and establish priorities and rushes for the lawyers supported.
  • Provide assistance throughout all stages of legal matters.
  • Compile basic data to facilitate requests for current and non-current information.
  • Liaise with Corporation components, service departments, and external stakeholders.
  • Perform data entry and document formatting.
  • Maintain agendas and arrange meetings and/or travel.
  • Complete expense accounts.
  • Maintain physical and electronic filing and organize filing systems.
