Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to manage projects with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive computer literacy.
  • Project Management Professional certification from PMI within 1 year of hire.
Responsibilities
  • Manage small to medium assigned IT projects independently, creating project plans with tasks, activities, dependencies, timelines, milestones, resource requirements, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure critical implementation criteria are met.
  • Coordinate with architects, team leads, resource managers, IT leaders, and sponsors to follow department processes for quality assurance, migrations and promotions, end-user acceptance and validation, training, and support.
  • Facilitate project meetings, including objectives, agendas, participants, and meeting minutes.
  • Develop and maintain reporting dashboards for senior leadership to communicate project status.
  • Conduct post-project lessons-learned sessions to identify successful project elements and areas for improvement.
  • Provide status reports to steering committees and use appropriate project management methodologies.
  • Manage project scope and timelines using governance bodies and Project Office leadership direction.
  • Identify, track, and manage project risks, mitigation plans, and issues through resolution, escalating as appropriate.
  • Determine project scope through collaboration with the executive project sponsor, key users, systems analysts, and application analysts.
  • Collaborate with technical team leads and resource managers to assign appropriate project resources and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Keep current with business and strategic goals, University service providers, team roles, processes, tools, and architecture.
  • Attend webinars, read case studies and white papers, and participate in opportunities to refine project management skills.
  • Build and maintain internal departmental relationships.
  • Make presentations to staff on work-related issues.
  • Serve on committees and attend meetings as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in healthcare or higher education.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Smartsheet, Clarity PPM, or project portfolio management software.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
