Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification (AHA BLS CPR).
  • Previous Patient Care Technician or Nursing Assistant experience.
Responsibilities
  • Continuously surveil monitors of telemetry patients; observe and document information associated with patients on cardiac monitoring and telemetry system.
  • Report changes and/or irregularities in rhythm patterns to the professional nurse.
  • Diagnose and record individual rhythm strips on all patients’ charts after calculating rate, rhythm and interval measurements.
  • Maintain continuous shift record of heart rate changes, ectopic beats, alarms status, intravenous anti-arrhythmic therapies and other pertinent data.
  • Complete a written and verbal SBAR report at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain patient census and data sheets; prepare records for transfer.
  • Maintain adequate monitoring stock supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the charge nurse.
  • Provide direct support to patients under supervision of a Registered Nurse, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assist with activities of daily living; monitor patient conditions; perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and supporting patient transport.
