Requirements
  • Three to five years of related experience in power plants, industrial services, primary power distribution, and related protection and control schemes.
  • At least two years of industrial or commercial power systems experience.
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Ability to reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications.
  • Ability to perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to read company manuals, reports, workplace rules, and procedures; speak with poise and confidence; and use correct English.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, business acumen, and management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A valid driver's license and good driving record.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical capabilities for testing relays, circuit breakers, transformers, motor control equipment, and related switchgear in the field, including synch check and point-to-point testing.
  • Perform and lead a field crew for testing, maintenance, and repair of breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor controls, and associated equipment.
  • Ensure proper preparation and documentation for site projects.
  • Help evaluate the department talent base, identify training needs, and recommend action plans for meeting performance expectations.
  • Identify and secure equipment needs for the shop and field.
  • Provide daily site summaries for site work in coordination with the assigned project manager.
  • Provide weekly production status reports to project management, operations managers, and the Service Assistant.
  • Maintain an understanding of the technical side of the company's core business needs.
  • Attend and contribute to project kickoff meetings.
  • Support budget adherence on projects.
  • Continuously instruct and train others.
  • Support sales efforts by assisting with labor estimates and job walks when necessary.
  • Remain current on all safety and technical training.
Desired Qualifications
  • NETA Level 2, 3, or 4 licensure or certification.
  • An associate degree from an accredited two-year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls.
  • An Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited college.
  • Similar experience and training from the military, including Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or Navy Seabee experience.

L.A. Family Housing provides affordable housing for low-income families in Greater Los Angeles and pairs it with supportive services. They own and operate 22 properties, including three shelters and 19 permanent affordable buildings, offering a continuum of care from temporary housing to permanent rental housing. Residents receive case management, basic needs support, and programs to build self-sufficiency, helping families move from homelessness to housing stability. Their goal is to preserve and grow affordable housing while reducing homelessness and strengthening neighborhoods in low-income communities.
