Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of administrative procedures and processes, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Good verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Interpersonal and work leadership skills to provide guidance to other nonexempt personnel.
  • Ability to follow and convey specific, detailed information in normal and emergency situations, and remain calm during situations involving conflict, hostility, panic, or indifference.
  • Ability to maintain composure amid changing workload demands, shifting priorities, frequent interruptions, emergencies, competing requirements, and fluctuating workloads.
  • Ability to receive multiple instructions in a short period and prioritize assignments for timely completion.
  • Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations, practices, or procedures to define problems or objectives, identify relevant concerns, formulate logical conclusions, and recognize alternatives and their implications.
  • Skill in reading standard English text, including emergency procedure manuals, maintenance logs, training manuals, and general correspondence.
  • Knowledge of where to obtain needed organizational information and ability to determine what information should be passed to different levels of management.
  • Basic knowledge of construction trades terminology and the functions of various trades.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
  • Answer trouble calls, dispatch repair crews, and support the operation of the UCLA campus infrastructure and utilities through the Facilities Management Customer Relations call center.
Desired Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of the physical plant of the UCLA campus and Medical Center.
