About the position

In this role, you will prepare the consolidated financial statements monthly, including intercompany eliminations and consolidations of foreign subsidiaries. You will be responsible for coordinating the quarterly and annual consolidated financial statement footnotes. You will provide support to field exploration teams by preparing project and budget reports and providing support in vendor compliance. Since KoBold is a startup company, your role will be dynamic and your role and responsibilities will grow as the company grows.  

Responsibilities

The Financial Reporting Lead will:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements 
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and eliminations
• Prepare/review monthly close reconciliations
• Assist with implementing technology (Wdesk) to improve efficiency of financial reporting processes
• Responsible for overseeing the financial reporting platform (Wdesk), including facilitating the quarterly and annual financial statements preparation within the platform
• Support field exploration teams by preparing project reports and analysis of fieldwork expenses compared to budgets
• Assist with preparation of all necessary monthly/quarterly/annual filings and reports for subsidiaries as needed
• Assist with compliance of annual corporate reporting, tax filings and other reporting requirements in multiple countries
• Implement and maintain new processes and technology as the company grows
• Provide support for miscellaneous projects in accounting and operations
• Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner

Qualifications

The candidate must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with at least 7 years experience in accounting 
• Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software
• Consolidating financial statements, preferably with foreign subsidiaries
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• The ability to quickly learn new tools as needed and solve new problems continuously
• A high degree of independence and the ability to work effectively with limited supervision
• Flexibility to accommodate meetings with staff/vendors overseas
• Interest in contributing broadly to the success of the company and eager to pitch in where needed

It is helpful but not required to have experience with:

• Experience working with international operations
• Experience with Wdesk (Workiva)
• Experience with technology or natural resource companies

This position is full-time, exempt.

The US base salary range for this full-time exempt position is $95,000-$120,000
