Requirements
  • An EASA Synthetic Flight Instructor certificate with an Airbus A330/A350 type rating is required.
  • Candidates must have a strong background in training and a passion for instructing.
  • Candidates must hold an EU passport or have the right to live and work within the European Union.
  • Excellent English is required for working with international students.

Responsibilities
  • Provide simulator or flight instruction for one single type rating toward the issue of licenses, type ratings, and certificates, or provide classroom ground-school instruction.
  • Conduct thorough and professional pre-flight and post-flight simulator briefings in accordance with CAE standards.
  • Complete training records, recommend remedial training when necessary, and track instructional qualifications.
  • Participate in creating curricula and courseware when required.
  • Provide high-quality synthetic training on Airbus A330/A350 platforms.
  • Deliver classroom tuition, including briefings, debriefings, and simulator details.
  • Write concise, timely, and accurate reports and maintain up-to-date trainee records.
  • Identify deficiencies and create recovery plans, including remedial training.
  • Work 40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays depending on the course schedule, sharing the work among the instructor team.
  • Travel to other CAE offices when required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Being based in Italy is ideal; applications from European Union-based candidates are also welcome.
  • A flight instructor certificate is valued.
  • Previous Airbus A330/A350 instructional experience as a Line Training Captain, Type Rating Instructor, or Type Rating Examiner is desirable.
  • An existing Airbus A330/A350 instructor qualification or rating issued by a regulatory authority is desirable.
  • A United Kingdom qualification is desirable.

CAE reports Q1 revenue of $1.17B, up 6.8% year-over-year, maintains fiscal 2027 outlook

CAE reported first quarter fiscal 2027 results with revenue of $1,173.4 million, up 6.8% year-over-year from $1,098.6 million. Earnings per share declined to $0.10 from $0.18 in the prior year, whilst adjusted EPS remained flat at $0.26. The Montreal-based company generated free cash flow of $104.0 million and maintained a net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio of 2.27x. Civil Aviation revenue rose 5.6% to $641.6 million, though profitability decreased. Defence and Security revenue increased 8.3% to $531.8 million with continued margin expansion. CAE's transformation plan progressed during the quarter, including a review of strategic alternatives for Flightscape and plans to close four to six Civil training centres. The company targets $125 million to $150 million in annual transformation run-rate savings by fiscal 2030. Management maintained its unchanged fiscal 2027 outlook.
