Requirements
  • Master’s degree from accredited physician assistant program or completion of a master’s level advanced practice nurse program.
  • Active APRN or physician assistant license in State of Illinois and active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire.
Responsibilities
  • Conducting comprehensive health assessments, including medical history and physical exams.
  • Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions related to women’s health.
  • Providing gynecologic care, including pap smears, breast exams, and contraception counseling.
  • Managing menstrual disorders, menopause, and hormonal therapy.
  • Performing colposcopies, endometrial biopsies, and IUD/Nexplanon insertions/removals (depending on credentials).
  • Prescribing medications, including contraceptives, hormone therapy, and antibiotics.
  • Providing prenatal and postnatal care, including routine checkups and fetal monitoring.
  • Educating patients on pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.
  • Collaborating with OB/GYNs in managing high-risk pregnancies.
  • Educating patients on sexual health, family planning, and fertility.
  • Counseling on lifestyle modifications to prevent chronic conditions such as heart disease, osteoporosis, and obesity.
  • Administering vaccinations (HPV, flu, etc.).
  • Working alongside OB/GYNs, primary care providers, and specialists for comprehensive patient care.
  • Referring patients for specialized treatments, including infertility and oncology services.
  • Assisting in surgical procedures or minor gynecologic procedures (if within scope of practice).
  • Supporting patients through sexual health concerns, domestic violence, and mental health challenges.
  • Educating on STI prevention, safe sex practices, and reproductive health options.
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Engaging in continuing education to stay up to date on advancements in women’s health care.
