Requirements
  • A minimum of three years’ experience as a supervisor or manager in a manufacturing environment with experience in weld repair or fabrication, with emphasis in TIG welding desired.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in interpreting and following verbal and written instructions accurately, including the reading and interpretation of shop drawings and work scope instructions, and applying basic shop math skills to the same.
  • High School graduate, with advanced educational accreditation preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and standard software programs.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct managerial oversight of the department and personnel.
  • Coordinate, plan and direct all activities of the Weld Department that contribute to the repair of the turbine engine component.
  • Establish daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicate the plan to the weld team.
  • Oversee the safety and well-being of the team in accordance with the company standards.
  • Monitor assigned work while reviewing completed jobs/projects to ensure adherence to work scope and company expectations.
  • Utilize computer software programs and applications in assigning, verifying, tracking, and monitoring metrics and job assignments.
  • Motivate, coach, and counsel team members to achieve desired results.
  • Manage personnel work hours, scheduled time off, shift schedules, and overtime to meet the customer requirements.
  • Perform functions, such as performance reviews, employee development, accountability of team members, conflict resolution, and disciplinary action.
  • Collaborate with designated trainers and department managers to monitor, guide, and improve upon employee development as well as process improvements.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled department meetings, including monthly meetings and smaller more frequent group meetings as required. Communicate changes that affect employees in a timely manner.
  • Detect issues in efficiency and suggest methods for improvements.
