Requirements
  • Valid and unrestricted license issued by the Medical Board of California to practice medicine
  • Board certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty
  • 3-5 years of applicable primary care clinical experience, which may include residency in a directly related medical
  • Current registration issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) allowing the prescription of drugs
  • Current BLS certification is required
Responsibilities
  • Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnosis, and treatment for a specified patient population
  • Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions
  • Refsers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives
  • Maintains a professional relationship with staff and patients
  • Performs other related and/or necessary tasks to achieve clinic goals and objectives, as directed by the Medical Director
  • Care team responsibilities as outlined in the Care Team Patient Center Medical Home Procedures
  • In addition to regularly scheduled shifts, is able to work a minimum of three (3) 4-hour Saturday shifts per calendar year, providing medical care to patients within the standard scope of practice. Requirement begins after 90-day training period. Compensation for coverage to be outlined in offer
  • In addition to regularly schedule shifts, is available to respond to after-hour calls regarding critical lab results for adult patients throughout the organization for a minimum of 2 weeks per year, this includes pager responsibilities. Requirement begins after 90-day training period and compensation for coverage to be outlined in offer
  • Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in a community health or in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) desired, but not required
  • EPIC Electronic Health Records (EHR) experience desired, but not required
  • Board Certification in Addiction Medicine desired, but not required
  • Ability to Speak Spanish preferred. Alternatively, an interest and willingness to learn is highly desired
