Capella Space Internship Program 

We are excited to offer a 10-week in-person internship at Capella Space, running from June 3rd to August 15th. This opportunity provides students with hands-on learning and valuable exposure to the dynamic fields of spacecraft design, manufacturing, and geospatial imagery. Alongside meaningful work, our internships include a variety of social events and experiences designed to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance throughout the summer. About the Role and Team

The Production Planning intern will work to enhance the way Capella analyzes production/project needs, determines the materials required, calculates the quantities needed, and ensures timely ordering to maintain optimal inventory levels and support smooth production/project schedules.

Role Responsibilities

• Build upon the existing foundation of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) capabilities & processes that are in place for flight demands
• Assist in establishing a systematic process for capturing non-flight demands (e.g. test equipment builds, engineering prototype builds, etc.)
• Support the creation of a systematic process for capturing common consumables (e.g. epoxies, tapes, etc.)
• Help transfer info and functionality into a modern digital MRP tool

Required Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in supply chain, industrial engineering or related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Capable of working with Microsoft Excel formulas (IF, VLOOKUP, SEARCH, etc.)

Desired skills:

• Understanding of supply chain logistics and principles
• Understanding of production processes and manufacturing techniques

Compensation

• This internship will be a 40-hour a week commitment at the pay of $25.00 per hour. An allowance will also be provided to support living costs throughout the program.
