Requirements
  • Interpersonal skills to explain procedure and elicit cooperation of patient during test and to exchange information with Physicians, Nurses and other hospital personnel
  • Medical Assistant Certificate preferred
  • Ability to recognize changes (but does not need to identify) in rhythm throughout exercise, print and alert nurse as necessary
  • Clerical skills to prepare reports requiring use of personal computers and knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, with active certification in American Heart Association CPR required
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in clinical setting performing Adult EKGs, applying Holter Monitor/Cardiac, Event Monitor application and assisting exercise stress testing preferred
Responsibilities
  • Receives order from EPIC for in-patient or referral form from physician’s office for outpatients.
  • Pre-registers patients as necessary.
  • Describes procedure to patient considering guidelines for age specific competency.
  • Checks arm bands and has patient confirm name and DOB.
  • Selects patient order from worklist on EKG machine and confirms patient Name and DOB.
  • Properly positions patient for procedure.
  • Measures intercostal space for correct placement of electrodes on chest.
  • Applies electrodes to limbs and in accordance with condition of patient.
  • Views EKG on preview screen to assure technical quality.
  • Is able to adequately identify critical arrhythmias, including any ST elevations, atrial fibrillation with RVR, and ventricular tachycardia. Is able to escalate critical findings to the appropriate personnel.
  • Prints/stores quality EKG.
  • Leaves copy for unit /transfers wirelessly to Heart Station.
  • Reconciles EKG with order on Tracemaster IECG EKG Management System.
  • Assigns to Cardiologist for interpretation.
  • Schedules in/out-patient Holter monitors, Extended Holter monitors, Cardiac Event Recorders, and walk in EKGs in EPIC.
  • For Holter Recorder, determines proper placement of electrodes, preps area, applies electrodes.
  • Reviews leads to determine technical quality of recording.
  • Instructs patient to fill out diary of activities and symptoms and confirm monitor return date.
  • For Event Recorder, applies monitor to patient, explains and demonstrates procedure for recording symptoms and playing back saved rhythm via telephone, and/or wireless device.
  • Runs test strip with patient, transfers to monitoring center to confirm receipt and technical quality of recording.
  • Confirms expectations and patient understanding of procedure.
  • Maintains records in EPIC Lifetime Clinical Record.
  • Conducts in/out-patient Exercise Stress Tests, Cardiopulmonary Stress Test and other variation of stress testing if required.
  • Preps patient according to precise procedures.
  • Obtain pre-test electrocardiograms.
  • Obtain pre-test PFT (pulmonary function test) for Cardiopulmonary Stress Test.
  • Explains procedures to patient and closely monitors patient and equipment during study---acquires quality EKG’s throughout exercise and is alert for EKG rhythm changes.
  • Enters patient demographics, blood pressure, obtained by nurse, patient symptoms into computer throughout exercise.
  • Participates in CPR if necessary.
  • Complies with infection control policies/procedures at all times

(“TriSalus” or the “company”), an oncology company in the process of going public through a business combination transaction (the “Business Combination”) with MedTech Acquisition Corporation (Nasdaq: MTAC) (“MedTech” or “MTAC”), today announced that it has expanded the reach of its ongoing Pressure-Enabled Regional Immuno-Oncology™ (“PERIO™-01” and “PERIO™-02”) clinical program.In recent months TriSalus has opened five new PERIO™-01 (NCT04935229) clinical trial sites, at Stanford University Hospitals, University of California Los Angeles, University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus, University of Washington Medical Center and University of Miami’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, in addition to five previously activated sites.
