Requirements
  • An Associate degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or five years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Two years of related experience.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Understanding of electrical wiring, fabrication, and testing of control panels in a UL 508A and UL 698A panel environment.
  • Understanding of instrument and control systems, including programmable logic controllers and 4–20 mA instrument loops.
  • Knowledge of transmitters, flow meters, pressure probes, temperature probes, level probes, timers, and relays.
  • Understanding of PLC logic and software platforms for input/output testing, including Allen-Bradley, Modicon, Siemens, and Motorola.
  • Understanding of nonconformance and corrective measures needed to adhere to standards.
  • Proper use of electrical test equipment and similar tools.
  • Understanding of electrical wiring and testing of direct-current and alternating-current circuits up to 480 volts.
  • Ability to power up and test 120 VAC, 24 VDC, and 480 V electrical systems in accordance with OSHA and NEC electrical safety practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits.
  • Ability to work extended hours, overtime, or weekends when required by production and site construction schedules.
  • Ability and dexterity to work with conduit, fittings, duct covers, and cabinets to manipulate wires.
  • Ability to understand and interpret piping and instrumentation drawings and tubing drawings to verify correct installation.
  • Ability to use customer software packages such as Procore, CxAlloy, and BIM 360 Field.
  • Understanding of basic email, Microsoft Office products, and other applications.
  • Adherence to all safety and environmental rules and regulations.
  • Employment authorization verification through the Form I-9 and E-Verify process is required for new hires.
Responsibilities
  • Perform quality control inspections and testing of field-installed instrumentation devices and fabricated instrument and control panels by following National Electrical Code, UL 508A, UL 698A, site-specific drawings, and specifications.
  • Write clear corrective actions for deficiencies and follow up on corrective actions as requested.
  • Develop written reports illustrating opportunities for improvement based on factual findings.
  • Communicate with team members in a facilitative manner about improving performance based on quality-inspection findings and insights.
  • Help prepare training materials and provide instruction based on insights gathered from quality findings.
  • Analyze in-house and third-party quality findings and provide insights into corrective measures that minimize recurrence of below-standard performance.
  • Provide positive feedback to team members to reinforce good performance.
  • Visually verify the bill of materials for panels and instrumentation devices.
  • Visually verify, electronically test, and/or physically trace all wire origins and designations for accurate wiring tags.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
