Requirements
  • A qualified adjunct faculty member must possess an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in technology, engineering, engineering technology, or a field directly related to the program’s discipline, along with any specialized certifications required for the class and two years of directly related work experience linked to the Curriculum of Record competencies.
  • A qualified adjunct faculty member may possess an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution, along with any specialized certifications required for the class and five years of directly related work experience linked to the Curriculum of Record competencies.
  • A qualified adjunct faculty member may possess an earned associate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution directly related to the program’s discipline, along with any specialized certifications required for the class and three years of directly related work experience linked to the Curriculum of Record competencies.
  • Selected candidates will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including a criminal history check, and employment offers will be contingent upon the outcome.
  • Official transcripts and certifications are required upon hiring.
  • Classes for this position must be taught in person on campus.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Use available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and instructional materials.
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other required documentation.
  • Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and provide a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
  • Develop and implement active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
  • Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner while complying with College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
  • Maintain safe, quality classrooms, laboratories, and equipment.
  • Conduct all responsibilities within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • Preferred candidates will have experience with and the ability to teach topics not limited to but including, Safety, Electrical, Mechanical, Fluid Power, PLC’s, Robotics, Vision Systems, HMI’s, and VFD’s.
