Requirements
  • Experience supporting business critical applications and servers in a multi data center/ multisite environment.
  • Familiarity with IaC and DevOps tools and practices.
  • Ability to develop automation to provision and manage SQL Server DB workloads on Azure.
  • Extensive experience in SQL Server 2008 – 2022 Database Administration (Enterprise and Standard editions), Clustering, SQL Server Always On, SQL Server Replication, SQL Server Mirroring, SSRS, SSIS, TSQL Scripting, Database Infrastructure Installs, Database Upgrades / Patching, Windows Server 2008 – 2022.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain database build standards including security to industry standards, patching and high availability.
  • Monitor and handle database resources to ensure optimum performance.
  • Document and run database server procedures such as backup and restore, upgrades and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Undertake maintenance and upgrades, generally out of normal business hours including weekends.
  • Provide database design support to development projects.
  • Performance tuning and diagnostics, query plan analysis.
  • Review database application code, collaborate on code improvements and maintain the source code using standard company tooling.
  • Assist Unix administrators to support applications requiring database expertise.
  • Participate in shift cover and be available for on-call service. Shift cover will mean that you perform tasks that may be outside of the normal responsibilities.
  • Define and maintain a strategy for database management to include both manual procedures/spot checks and automated alerts.
  • Assist IT Security in maintaining an appropriate database security policy and evaluate applications to ‘police’ alignment to policy.
  • Develop automation for database deployment and maintenance using DevOps tools and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices.
  • Play a key role in solution design and implementation of database infrastructure (SQL Server) in Azure.
  • Implement database migrations from on-premise to Azure.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines specific to database.
  • Ensure alignment with defined Database standards.
  • Apply security standard methodologies and compliance controls for database access.
  • DB Platform Maintenance - Maintain the Database platform including Infrastructure, Code and Integrations to provide a robust database service to the application teams.
  • Database Administration - Investigate and resolve production issues, incidents, and service disruptions in a timely manner.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with SQL Server (2008 - 2022), Oracle (11g – 23ai), or Sybase ASE (15 - 16) would be very favourably considered.
  • Experience of working in the finance/banking sector would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with monitoring products.
  • Experience with Delphix.
  • Experience in Citrix, Web Development, Control-M, Service Now.
  • Skills in Perl scripting and other Database technologies such as MySQL, MongoDB.
  • Familiar with Distributed Transactions and Data Warehousing.
  • Knowledge/Experience in using database migration tools.

LSEG Risk Intelligence publishes a report drawing attention to the global rise in child identity theft. The report calls out the impact of child identity theft, the risks to financial institutions, and highlights the growing threat of synthetic identity fraud. It outlines practical actions financial institutions may adopt immediately such as identity, age and third-party verification together with transaction monitoring for child-linked accounts and multi-layered security.The report, It Takes an Industry: Combatting the Rise of Child Identity Theft, draws from data, emotional and personal accounts and cross-sector research to present a coordinated response framework for financial institutions.It reveals that the number of identities connected to identity fraud within the LSEG World Check database grew by 13% since March 2024, reflecting heightened global attention and monitoring.In addition, there was a 43% increase in the count of entities in World-Check – companies, businesses and organisations that were allegedly used as a vehicle to commit identity fraud.Entries connected to organised crime groups and identity fraud grew by 12%, underscoring the role of syndicates in facilitating these crimes.According to the US Federal Trade Commission, child identity theft surged by 40% between 2021 and 2024.One in Fifty documentaryOur campaign will include a documentary, One In Fifty, featuring Renata Galvão, an LSEG employee whose identity was stolen at the age of six.
