- Understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 LAN switching, including VLANs, private VLANs, trunking, EtherChannel, VTP, and Spanning Tree.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Visio for network documentation.
- Ability to work both in a team environment and independently.
- Configure Cisco Wi-Fi hardware, including unboxing access points, staging them, configuring them to receive IP addresses, downloading software compatible with wireless controllers, recording MAC addresses for DHCP server security, and labeling access points with their correct locations.
- Re-box access points and prepare them for pickup by the wireless vendor integrator for field deployment.
- Add heat maps and access points to Cisco Prime and manage rogue access points.
- Perform operational Wi-Fi troubleshooting as second-tier support for the first-tier Wi-Fi Operations Engineer.
- Perform ad hoc network engineering tasks assigned by the Manager of Network Engineering.
- Provide additional network engineering support for other high-priority network engineering projects.
- Formal Cisco wireless training.
