Job Description
Scope of Position: The Nursing Director provides for operations and administrative leadership and responsibility for determining the vision and direction for multiple clinical areas. The Nursing Director is responsible for guiding and executing an operational plan to reduce/prevent readmissions to the hospital. The Director collaborates with accreditation program director to ensure readiness and compliance with regulatory agencies. The Director oversees programs and directs the integration of case management and social work functions into the operations and business processes of OSU East Hospital.
Position Summary: The Nursing Director plans and directs the activities of a staff of managerial, professional/technical, and auxiliary personnel, leads/directs overall operations in the following areas: Case Management (PCRM)/Social Work, Clinical Accreditation, Orthopedics, Talbot Hall Nursing, Endoscopy, Dialysis, Nursing Services (ET, PICC, Float Pool, Stat RNs), is responsible for the following: integrate department's services in the hospital's primary functions; coordinate and integrate services within the department and with other departments; develop and implement policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of the department's services; recommend a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide the department's services; continuously assess and improve the department's performance; maintain appropriate quality control programs; provide for orientation, in-service training, and continuing education of all personals in the department; recommend sufficient space and other resources required by the department; participate in the selection of outside services as needed; and ensure compliance with appropriate patient care and business practices.
Minimum Education Required: Master's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in nursing
Required Qualifications: Masters Degree in Hospital Administration, Business Administration or Nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Evidence of excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing. Progressive experience in clinical operations, continuous improvement and operations improvement. Current Ohio RN license.
Additional Information:
Minimum experience: 10 years of RN experience with at least 7 years in nursing management.
