Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, education, or business-related field, or a minimum of two years’ experience in an accounting and/or audit environment
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Knowledge of generally accepted auditing standards
  • Knowledge of Government Auditing Standards
  • Investigatory experience a plus
Responsibilities
  • Utilize accounting and auditing skills to audit county governments in the assigned regional district location
  • Conduct financial, operational, and federal compliance audits
  • Conduct interviews with client personnel
  • Evaluate internal controls
  • Determine compliance with laws and regulations
  • Assess the effectiveness of operations and procedures
  • Perform specific audit procedures
  • Prepare audit working papers to be used in writing the final audit report
