Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or a similar quantitative field is required.
  • Zero to two years of financial management experience is required.
  • Ability to obtain a public trust clearance, including passing a criminal background check and credit check.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to leverage analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel for data manipulation.
  • Strong ability to manage time and organize priorities within deadlines.
  • Eagerness to learn and expand current skill sets.
  • Candidates must reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Responsibilities
  • Interface directly with the General Services Administration client's Project Managers, Contracting Officers, and Contract Specialists.
  • Present financial statuses and recommendations to GSA AAS, GSA AAS's federal agency clients, and other federal contractors.
  • Identify root causes of complex contract financial situations and model possible courses of action to recommend solutions.
  • Identify and resolve funding shortfalls and surpluses to maximize client purchasing power.
  • Analyze historical data to maintain estimates of account burn rates, funding runout dates, and total costs of specific projects.
  • Create and maintain account structures for federal contracts supporting multiple stakeholders, including tracking each stakeholder's funds and expenditures.
  • Support the intake of funding from GSA's clients and coordinate funding allocation recommendations with contract stakeholders.
  • Reconcile contract finances to validate financial tracking, identify allocation errors, and remove unneeded funds.
  • Review cost estimate submissions for financial validity and contractual compliance.
  • Review invoices for financial accuracy, errors, and contractual compliance.
  • Utilize financial management tools and systems to collect, analyze, review, and report on project financial data.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience in financial analysis or related fields is a plus.
  • Experience with federal government contracts is a plus.
